In simply everything you do
you go further than a step or two,
daily you often go far beyond
creating a unique working bond.
You don’t know when to stop
helping others reach for the top,
going beyond what is your role
in helping others out of a hole.
You don’t just do nine to five
and never have time to skive,
you work beyond what’s due
as that’s deeply ingrained in you.
You support others when in need
but also guide and help them lead,
imparting your knowledge every day
often with encouraging words to say.
putting yourself last in the queue
is something you so often do,
thinking of others before yourself
even if it affects your own health.
You don’t boss but rather lead
guiding, nurturing if there’s need,
but also willing to learn from us
bringing calm amidst the fuss.
You go above, beyond and more
and many are grateful for sure,
please know you’re among the best
now take time out for a bloody rest.
Caring hands reach out to those in need
building trust from a tiny, fragile seed,
nurturing patients with a gentle touch
a simple gesture which means so much.
Caring hands show patients you are there
an advocate with whom they can share,
their worries, troubles or even their fears
laughter, smiles or when needed tears.
Caring hands make a difference each day
tending, nurturing in so many simple ways,
conveying more than words could ever do
a message of hope that holds ever true.
Caring hands convey a sense of calm
they act like a most soothing balm,
bringing peace to any troubled minds
with actions so thoughtful and kind.
Caring hands create a very strong bond
as the nurse goes above and beyond,
to show each patient they truly care
as a part of themselves they share.
Caring hands touch lives every single day
in so many a varied and myriad of ways,
for each and every kind-hearted deed
can lift the hopes of someone in need.
Caring hands are busy every single day
nurturing, supporting come what may,
reaching out to each patient in need
making a difference with every deed.
Caring hands are a nurse’s greatest gift
for a patient’s spirits they help to lift
often helping to reassure, heal or soothe
simply put, they’re nursing’s greatest tool.
